How to install the Content Platform Engine (CPE) Client jars in the CommonFiles folder after installing IBM Enterprise Records

Problem

FileNet Content Manager 5.7.0 no longer includes a Client installer. Instead, a zip file is provided that contains the Content Engine Client libraries. 

Resolving The Problem

If you are upgrading to Content Platform Engine (CPE) 5.7.0 from an earlier version, move the <IER_install_path>\CommonFiles directory to a backup location.

For all new and upgrade installations, use the following procedure to install the latest Content Platform Engine Client libraries:

  1. Go to the P8 Platform Download page: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6466597.
  2. Click on the link for the appropriate release of FileNet Content Manager or IBM Content Foundation.
  3. Find the part number for the Content Platform Engine client libraries.
  4. Download the Content Platform Engine client libraries from Passport Advantage: https://www.ibm.com/software/passportadvantage/pao_customer.html.
  5. On your IER server
    1. Navigate to <IER_install_path>\CommonFiles
    2. Create a folder called CE_API with the following subfolders:
      • config
      • lib
      • lib2
    3. Copy the following jar files from the CPE client zip file to the CommonFiles folder:
      • pe.jar
      • pe3pt.jar
      • peResources.jar
      • peRest.jar
    4. Copy the following files from the CPE client zip file to the CommonFiles/CE_API/config folder:
      • FileNetLogging.properties
      • jaas.conf.WebLogic
      • jaas.conf.WebSphere
      • jaas.conf.WSI
      • P88PMRESTConfig
    5. Copy the following jar files from the CPE client zip file to the CommonFiles/CE_API/lib folder:
      • Jace.jar
      • p8cel10n.jar
    6. Copy the following jar file from <IER_install_path>\RecordsManagerSweep\lib to CommonFiles/CE_API/lib2:
      • listener.jar
