MustGather Data Collection Requirements for Instana Sensors
Monitored environment details:
- Specify whether it is a single host or Kubernetes/OCP.
- Include the OS type and version.
- Provide the type and version of the technology in use (e.g., the application being monitored).
- Note any frameworks or libraries in use, along with their versions.
- Java version installed on the system
Agent logs:
Agent configuration:
- Locate the <instana-agent-dir>/etc/instana/configuration.yaml file.

Raw Payload Collection - Gather raw payload data from the affected sensor to provide insight into the data being processed and transmitted.
To enable raw outgoing payload logging, do the following (no need to restart the agent):
Update the <instana-agent-dir>/etc/instana/com.instana.agent.main.sender.File.cfg file as follows:
Set the "prefix" line to "prefix=json" or any other prefix preferred name
Additional files to collect (if using a proxy):
<instana-agent-dir>/etc/instana/com.instana.agent.main.sender.Backend.cfgfile,<instana-agent-dir>/etc/mvn-settings.xml file.
