2.0 List of fixes

============================

The following APARs and critical defects are addressed in this fix pack.

ITCAM agent for WebSphere MQ

  • IJ42762 - MQ agent 64-bit instances are showing high CPU on Linux on z/os.
  • IJ23108 - KMQ agent can't display AMQ9777E error messages due to new content added in MQ 9.1.X
  • IJ46156 - The error message is not displayed on TEP due to the large length of the 'CommentInsert' attribute in the MQ error log.
  • IJ47205 - MQGET call is failing with MQRC 2080(MQRC_TRUNCATED_MSG_FAILED) error when the MQ message size is larger than the default message buffer size(1024).
  • IJ47294 - MQ Agent is unable to parse the new format and related columns of IBM MQ 9.0.3 or later correctly because a new item about time is added in the MQ error log workspace.
  • IJ46835 - KMQ agent is incorrectly constructing the path of qm.ini required for MaxChannels and MaxActiveChannels attribute on IBM i (OS/400)
  • IJ23052 - Incorrect backup directory path for MQ.CFG file in Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Applications Documentation. For more information, see www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7103499.

4.0 Known issues

============================
  • Upgrading an existing MQ agent on the Windows platform replaces the customized mq.cfg with the default one
Problem Description: In case of an upgrade scenario on the Windows platform, the customized mq.cfg file is getting replaced with the default one.
Workaround: Back up the customized mq.cfg file before upgrade, and then replace the default mq.cfg file that is present at <ITMHOME>\TMAITM6_x64 for Win64 or <ITMHOME>\TMAITM6 for Win32 locations with the backed up file.
  • Remote installation of 32-bit KMQ agent on the Windows and xLinux platforms by using TEP GUI installs 64-bit agent.
Problem Description: Remote installation of 32-bit MQ agent by using GUI by selecting "WebSphere MQ monitoring agent 32/64 bit" option installs 64-bit agent when both 32-bit and 64-bit agent bundles are present.
Workaround: To install a 32-bit MQ agent remotely, add only 32-bit agent bundles to the depot on ITM.
  • TEMS Configurator (KCF) returns a false result when validating Queue Manager v9.1
Problem Description: TEMS Configurator (KCF) returns a false result when validating Queue Manager v9.1 since there is an unsupported attribute in IBM MQ 9.1.
Workaround: Uncheck 'Validate individual property fields' in the Queue Manager Validation section.
  • For Red Hat 8 x86-64, you might need to install some additional 32-bit libraries
Problem Description: Red Hat 8 is supported on x86-64 but you might need to install some additional 32-bit libraries.
Workaround: For more details, see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/1282876.
  • For Windows Environment, the KQI agent fails to start if the correct redistributable is not installed
Problem Description: The KQI agent does not start on Windows and displays an error, "Faulting module name: MSVCR90.dll".
Workaround: Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and 2013 redistributable.
  • KQI Agent does not start on X-Linux and Z-Linux after the SP14 SDK addition.
Problem Description: KQI agent does not start on x-linux and z-linux with ./itmcmd agent start qi.
Workaround: To start the agent on the x-linux and z-linux environments, you need to provide the instance name in the itmcmd command with the '-o' option. The following is the format of the command.
    ./itmcmd agent -o <instance_name> start qi

8.0 Post-installation tasks

WebSphere Message Broker monitoring agent

Additional configuration is required if the WebSphere Message Broker agent is upgraded from version 7.3 GA to version 7.3 fix pack 3 and later.

If you already installed the WebSphere Message Broker agent of version 7.3 GA and have enabled historical data for Message flow status, complete the following steps after you upgrade the agent to version 7.3 fix pack 3 and later.
  1. Ensure that you have upgraded application support files on Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server and Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server.
  2. Stop the WebSphere Message Broker monitoring agent if it is running.
  3. Remove the following local historical data files.
    Linux or UNIX
    <agent_install_path>/<arch_code>/qi/hist/<AgentId>/KQITMFLS*
    Windows
    32-bit agent: <ITM_HOME>\TMAITM6\logs\History\KQI\<instance ID>\KQITMFLS*
    64-bit agent: <ITM_HOME>\TMAITM6_x64\logs\History\KQI\<instance ID>\KQITMFLS*
  4. If you upgraded the agent from version 7.3 GA to version 7.3 fix pack 2 and historical data collection is enabled for the Message Flow Status table, check the Message_Flow_Status table and any other related summarization tables.
In the Message_Flow_Status table with suffixes such as _H, _D, _Y, _Q, _M, _W, in your warehouse database, if the length value of the DFMF_SAOF and DFMF_SSOF columns is 24, change it to 12 by completing any one of the following steps.
    • Drop the table and allow WPA to rebuild it with the correct column definitions.
    • Manually perform ALTER COLUMN for DFMF_SAOF and DFMF_SSOF to specify a length of 12.
