This page contains the Addons package for use with applications developed using the IBM Open XL C/C++ for Linux on Power 17.1.1 compiler.

  • Ubuntu Server 20.04, 22.04
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 15 SP3

Installation Instructions

Installation instructions

Note: The "addons" tarball includes:
     - the static libraries for linking object code without a compiler
     - optional developer tools

To install this software, complete the following steps:
 
  1. Download and extract the packages. For example:
           tar -zxvf <filename>.tar.gz
  2. Install the packages using the following command:
           ./install

Note: The packages can also be installed using apt-get, yum, and zypper.

Uninstallation Instructions

  Uninstall the "addons" packages by running:
 
    On SLES and RHEL:
           rpm -e libopenxlc-devel.17.1.1 openxlc-tools.17.1.1

    On Ubuntu:
           dpkg -P libopenxlc-devel.17.1.1 openxlc-tools.17.1.1

In cases where a package is required by other installed packages, that
package might not uninstall.

Technical Support

The IBM Open XL C/C++ for Linux on Power 17.1.1 is not supported as a stand-alone software product.

If you suspect a problem with the Open IBM XL C/C++ Addons while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.
