Affected Domain
All users of Testcase and ECuRep FTP servers for data exchange.
Abstract
Effective 31 August 2022, changes will be implemented on the Testcase and ECuRep servers that require clients to modify their definitions and procedures to successfully exchange documentation with the "toibm" and "fromibm" directories.
Description
Effective 31 August 2022, there are 3 changes to be aware of:
1. "Anonymous" authentication is not accepted on the upload or download of documentation to the Testcase and ECuRep FTP servers. An IBM Support File Transfer ID is required to upload and download data with the "toibm" and "fromibm" directories.
2. Unsecured plain FTP is disabled on the Testcase and ECuRep FTP servers. Only the use of secure protocols is supported such as HTTPS, FTPS, and SFTP.
3. The Testcase servers have new IP addresses. The Domain Name System (DNS) hostnames remain the same and do not change.
Recommended Action
Details about change #1 and #2 are documented in "Unsecured and anonymous FTP to upload IBM Documentation will be disabled."
Details about change #3 are documented in "Preparing customer firewalls and proxies for the upcoming infrastructure changes"
1. Use your IBMid to obtain an IBM Support File Transfer ID and password. The password is displayed only once and cannot be retrieved. If the password is lost, create a new IBM Support File Transfer ID and remove the old one. The IBM Support File Transfer ID and password can be used repeatedly and never expires. It is connected to your IBMid so the identity is known of the originator of the upload or download. Change any existing JCL, jobs, or tools including PDUU and z/OSMF to use the new IBM Support File Transfer ID and password. The IBM Support File Transfer ID can be used now, but it will be the only option and enforced on 31 August 2022.
2. The IBM Testcase and ECuRep servers currently support FTPS, SFTP, and HTTPS protocols. Ensure you have secure transport protocols in place and update any procedures, including existing JCL, jobs, tools, PDUU, and z/OSMF to use the secure transport protocols. You can use secure protocols now, but it will be the only option and enforced on 31 August 2022.
3. IP addresses change for the IBM Testcase servers that are used to exchange documentation with support. The DNS hostname remains the same. If your network connections use an IP address rather than the defined hostname to make a connection, then the firewall and proxy servers must be configured to use the new IP address. The servers affected are listed in detail with the new and old IP addresses in the document "Preparing customer firewalls and proxies for the upcoming infrastructure changes". As explained in the document, it is recommended to add new firewall rules but do not change or remove existing firewall rules. The new IP addresses can be used starting 4 June 2022, but will be the only option and enforced on 31 August 2022.
