Abstract

This fix pack updates Java applets certificate, IBM Tivoli Monitoring agent, Security fixes and addresses APARs and internally found issues since the release of IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.2.0 release.

3.0 New support and features added in Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.2.0.Fixpack 4
Fix Pack 4 includes the following enhancements:
- Updated Tivoli Business Service Manager 6.2.0 signed certificates, with a 2022 expiration year.
  This fix addresses the Tivoli Business Service Manager Certificate expiry, which now has a date of 03 April 2024

3.2 Additional Browser Support with Fix Pack 4:

No longer supported: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

4.0 Known issues

4.1 Tivoli Business Service Manager XMLToolkit on Windows.
The Impact Fix Pack 3 Update or Rollback process, fails if the Tivoli Business Service Manager XMLToolkit service is running.
Symptom: When the Impact Fix Pack 3 Update and Rollback are run, while the XMLToolkit service is active (on Windows),
the following message is generated on the Installation Manager Update Failed window:

Error during “install/rollback” phase:
Deleting files from C:\*\tbsm\XMLToolk\_jvm
Failed to delete C:\*\tbsm\XMLToolk\_jvm\jre\bin\classic\jvm.dll

Root Cause: On a Windows environment, the files are locked by the operating system, whenever they are in use. This prevents the installer from removing or changing files.
Resolution: Stop the “Tivoli BSM Discovery Library toolkit” (or XMLToolkitSvc.exe) service and reattempt the Update or Rollback process.

4.2 The Monitoring Agent for Business Service Manager Common Agent, may not start on Red Hat Linux.

Problem:
When using the following command: ./itmcmd agent start r9
It might report the following message:

Starting Monitoring Agent for Business Service Manager Common Agent ...
KCIIN0198E Unable to start agent. Please, check log file.

Symptom:
The logs <host>_r9_*.log can report the following message:
/opt/IBM/ITM/lx8266/r9/bin/kr9agent: error while loading shared libraries:
libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
libnsl.so.1 is not available in this machine, the machine is:

Resolving The Problem:
Install the libnsl library
For example, use the following command:  yum install libnsl-2.28-164.el8_5.3.x86_64
This creates:  ./usr/lib64/libnsl.so.1
Proceed and start the Agent again: ./itmcmd agent start r9
