Summary
Node.js module marked is used by IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container when creating an API-based Designer flow. IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container DesignerAuthoring instances may be vulnerable to regular expression denial of service. This bulletin provides patch information to address the reported vulnerability CVE-2022-21680 in DesignerAuthoring instances.

DESCRIPTION: Node.js marked module is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) flaw in block.def. By sending a specially-crafted regex input, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service condition.

Upgrade to App Connect Enterprise Certified Container Operator version 3.1.0 or higher, and ensure that all DesignerAuthoring components are at 12.0.3.0-r1 or higher. Upgrade to App Connect Enterprise Certified Container Operator version 1.1.7 or higher, and ensure that all DesignerAuthoring components are at 11.0.0.16-r1-eus or higher.
