Summary

OpenSSL is used by IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container for encrypted communication. IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container operands may be vulnerable to leaking sensitive information. This bulletin provides patch information to address the reported vulnerability CVE-2021-3712 in OpenSSL.

Vulnerability Details

CVEID:   CVE-2021-3712
DESCRIPTION:   OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by an out-of-bounds read when processing ASN.1 strings. By sending specially crafted data, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to read contents of memory on the system or perform a denial of service attack.

App Connect Enterprise Certified Container 1.5, 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 (Continuous Delivery)

App Connect Enterprise Certified Container 1.1 EUS (Extended Update Support)
