Maximo Predict and Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities: Detect anomalies in operating contexts
On the Anomaly detection card, you can review operating context-specific anomaly scores.
Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities: Number of customers formula for criticality scores
You can now use a new default formula as a contributor to criticality scores. The formula calculates a score based on the number of customers who rely on an asset. To use the number of customers formula for a location, as a data scientist, you must configure the number of customer formula in the IBM Watson Studio notebooks. For more information, review the documentation for the NOC-Calculation notebook.
Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities: View notebook-based scoring contributors for health and criticality
For health and criticality scores that are calculated in an IBM Watson® Studio notebook and use contributors, you can view the contributors on the Health details and Criticality details cards. You can expand the contributors to view more details, such as the related function.
Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities: More asset class notebooks
- Wood pole structures
- Metal support structures
- Underground and submarine cables, which include the following subtypes:
- Self-contained fluid filled (SCFF) cables
- High-pressure fluid filled pipe type (HPFF) cables
- Self-contained gas filled (SCGF) submarine cables

Maximo Health and Predict - Utilities: Complete dissolved gas analysis (DGA) for transformer assets
In transformer-type assets, a new Dissolved gas analysis section is available. The section contains the Duval triangle card and the History of combustible gas analysis card. You can use the Duval triangle card to review DGA samples and the percentages of methane, ethylene, and acetylene in each sample. You can use the History of combustible gas analysis chart to review a history of samples and the condition rating of each sample.
Before you can use the cards, your data scientist must configure the notebook to support the settings and then the notebook must be connected to a group on the Scoring and DGA settings page.
Configuring the notebook
In the DGA model configuration file, in the defaultsetup.components section, the following scores are added:
"SCORE", "Duval triangle score", "Duval Triangle Score","Duval triangle for dissolved gas analysis",
"SCORE", "History of combustible gas concentration", "DGA Trend Score","History of combustible gas concentration",
Each score section lists the required meter readings for that score. The implementation function is common_calculate_none, which is a placeholder. All reading data is processed in the application or industry solution.
For the Duval triangle score, the following three meter readings are defined in the algorithm. You must specify a reading value for each. Ensure that the meter reading name contains the abbreviation for the gas type. For example, the meter reading name for CH4 must contain CH4.
- CH4
- C2H2
- C2H4
- H2
- CH4
- C2H6
- C2H2
- CO
- CO2
- C3H5
- C3H6
- C4
- N2
- O2
Connecting the notebook to a group
To configure the settings, complete the following steps:
- On the Scoring and DGA settings page, click Create a scoring and DGA group and create a new group. DGA settings are applied to all assets in that group. Ensure that the group is connected to a notebook and that you select a notebook that contains the DGA scoring.
- In the Scores table, activate the scores. In some cases, DGA settings might rely on the calculation of other score types.
- In the Scored assets table, select a transformer asset. DGA is only available for transformer-type assets.
- Open the Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) section and verify that data is available in the Duval triangle and History of combustible gas analysis charts.
