Detailed System Requirements


Abstract

This page contains detailed prerequisites for Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Web GUI 8.1.0 Fix Packs.

Content

1. Base Installation
The Fix Pack requires the refresh installation pack from 8.1.0.0, 8.1.0.14, 8.1.0.16, or 8.1.0.18 release, for a full installation.
2. IBM Installation Manager (IM)
IBM Installation Manager is used to install, uninstall, update, roll back, and modify the Web GUI offering.
Note:
For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP4 onwards, IBM Installation Manager V1.8.2.1 or later is required.
For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP18 onwards, IBM Installation Manager V1.9.x or later is required.
3. IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
WAS is required by Jazz for Service Management. Refer to Jazz for Service Management release notes for details of supported versions.
For WAS 8.5.5.14 or earlier, the IBM WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition optional package is required, for its Java 7.0.x, 7.1.x or 8.0.x accordingly.
For WAS 9.0.5.2 or later, the IBM JDK package is required, for its Java 8.0.x accordingly.
The WAS SDK/JDK version must be supported by the installed/installing WAS version, and must be installed through Installation Manager using "Install" or "Update" option. Refer to WebSphere Application Server release notes for details of supported Java versions. WAS 8.5.5.14 or later versions are packaged with Java v8.0.x as default. Therefore, the optional WAS-SDK edition is no longer required and can be removed or uninstall if previously installed.

Notes:
2.a. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP4 onwards, the minimum requirement is WAS 8.5.5.4, and its associated WAS-SDK V7.0.x.
2.b. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP6 onwards, the minimum requirement is WAS 8.5.5.8, and its associated WAS-SDK V7.0.x or V7.1.x.
2.c. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP14 onwards, the minimum requirement is WAS 8.5.5.12, and its associated WAS-SDK V8.0.x.
2.d. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP16 onwards, the minimum requirement is WAS 8.5.5.14 with default Java v8.x and JazzSM 1.1.3.2.
2.e. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP18 onwards, the minimum requirement is WAS 8.5.5.16 with default Java v8.x and JazzSM 1.1.3.5.
2.f. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP19 onwards, the minimum requirement for WAS 8.5.5 is WAS 8.5.5.17 with default Java v8.x and JazzSM 1.1.3.7.
2.g. For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP19 onwards, the minimum requirement for WAS 9.0.5 is WAS 9.0.5 FP1 (full) with FP3 (Update) and its associated JDK V8.0.5.x and JazzSM 1.1.3.7.

4. IBM DB2 (DB2)
IBM DB2 is a database server and can be used in cluster environments to support load-balancing architecture. Refer to Jazz for Service Management release notes for details of supported versions.
5. Jazz for Service Management (JazzSM)
The user interface (UI) from Jazz for Service Management provides the framework for Web GUI. Refer to product release notes for details of certified versions. In particular, the Dashboard Application services Hub (DASH) packaged and its cumulative patch version.
(i) For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP19 onwards, Dashboard Application services Hub (DASH) 3.1.3.7 is required.
(ii) For WebGUI 8.1.0 FP11 and FP14, Dashboard Application services Hub (DASH) 3.1.3.0 and its cumulative patch version is required.
(iii) WebGUI 8.1.0 does not support JazzSM 1.1.3.4, instead, use JazzSM 1.1.3.3 or JazzSM 1.1.3.5.
