Web GUI installation prerequisites
If you are installing or upgrading the Web GUI, you must take note of a number of prerequisites.
The components that are listed in this topic are installed with IBM® Installation Manager.
IBM Installation Manager
is provided with the IBM Tivoli® Netcool®/OMNIbus
8.1 installation package and is also available as a stand-alone product.

1.9.2.8 is packaged with refresh installers.The following components are prerequisites for a Web GUI8.1 installation. If you attempt a Web GUI installation and ignore the prerequisites, the installation fails.
Prerequisites
- IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Core.Note: Not having Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus installed does not prevent a Web GUI installation from completing, however without an ObjectServer installed and running you cannot configure a data source.
- IBM
WebSphere® Application Server 8.5.0.1 (or later) for
Jazz® for Service Management.
Only side-by-side upgrade is supported from IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5 to 9. In place upgrade is not supported.

- IBM
WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition.
See the following table for information on supported versions.

- Jazz for Service Management 1.x. During this step, the Installation Manager discovers two required packages in the Jazz repository. Both of the following packages must be selected for installation at the same time:
- Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere 8.5.
- Dashboard Application Services Hub 3.x.
Integrated event search- The integrated event search feature between Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus and IBM Operations Analytics - Log Analysis requires a Netcool Operations Insight license. The following components are prerequisites for the
event search feature:
- OMNIbusInsightPack_v1.3.0.2 for IBM Operations Analytics - Log Analysis
This is the minimum release of the Insight Pack required to enable the event search capability. The Insight Pack is installed into Operations Analytics - Log Analysis. - Gateway for Message Bus 7.0
This product is installed by Installation Manager and system requirements are the same as for Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 8.1. It is used for transferring event data to Operations Analytics - Log Analysis.
