Resolving The Problem
Downloading and Installing QMGTOOLS
Follow the URL to obtain a copy of the QMGTOOLS library.
Running the Collection
- Issue the ADDLIBLE LIB(QMGTOOLS) command.
- Issue the command GO MG command to access the main QMGTOOLS menu.
- Make sure that the tool is up to date by choosing option 13 and downloading the latest version.
- Choose option 1 to collect a system snapshot.
- These three parameters allow the collecting of SR or BRMS data.
Collect SR data (QSRSRV) . . . . Y Y, N
Collect BRMS data (QSRSRV) . . Y Y, N
Collect device FR (QSRSRV) . . Y Y, N

https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/qmgtools-system-snapshot-syssnap - If you are specifying other options in the SYSSNAP to collect LICLOGS, PALS, QHST, or CS data, fill in the DAYSPRV option, which defaults to only one day. In this example we show 30 days.
Previous days to collect . . . . 30 1-180 days, *DATE - When the function finishes, a zip file is created in the IFS.
Examples
Example 1: Basic SR Info
SYSSNAP COLSRDTA(Y/Y/Y)
This gathers basic system information, along with SR, BRMS, and tape device flight recorders.
Example 2: A month's worth of more advanced logging
SYSSNAP LICLOGS(Y) QHST(Y) COLSRDTA(Y/Y/Y) DAYSPRV(30)
This gathers basic system information, SR, BRMS, and tape device flight recorders, as well as LICLOGS, PALS, and QHST logs for the last 30 days.
Sending in the Data
FTP the file to IBM with the built-in FTP function in QMGTOOLS. You may wish to follow these instructions:
