This page lists the known limitations in the Cloud Pak for Business Automation as a Service capabilities. Workarounds are provided where possible.

 

Business automations

Decisions
ComponentLimitationWorkaround
Decision CenterServer authenticationAfter IBM creates your Decisions cloud portal, you must set up connections in Decision Center to the Decision Server servers. For instructions, see Setting server connection authentication for Decisions components.
Installation When you install Rule Designer in Eclipse, you encounter several problems, including user interface issues, missing plug-ins, error messages, and broken About popup and Installation details button.See Resolving possible issues with Eclipse after updating Rule Designer.
 

Filenet

FileNet Deployment Manager
Starting in FileNet Deployment Manager (FDM) 5.5.12, FDM is no longer able to connect to a Process Engine (PE) Workflow System.
 
Specifically, pe.jar is unable to load Jace.jar's com.filenet.api.authentication.Credentials package to authenticate to CPE.
  1. Close FDM if it is running.
  2. Make a backup of deploy\plugins\com.filenet.jace_6.0.0\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF
  3. Edit deploy\plugins\com.filenet.jace_6.0.0\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF. In the section "Export-Package:", add ",com.filenet.api.authentication" at the end of the long list of packages (making sure that there is a comma between the last package and the package being added). Save the file.
  4. When starting FDM, make sure to pass the argument "-clean", either when calling DeploymentManager on the command line or adding it to the DeploymentManager.ini arguments.
 
Workflow

Workflow  Center > Process DesignerFor case solutions containing a split case coach, you cannot load the coach in Process Designer.
By default, to use artifacts in the Case toolkit, users need Admin permissions. To grant access to other users, go to Workflow Center and complete the following steps:
  1. Go to Case solutions > Toolkits > Case > Permissions and add the user.
  2. Open the solution in Designer, remove the Case toolkit, and then add it again.
