Refreshes are available every quarter, with interim releases in between:

• Quarterly releases: contain the latest Oracle CPU update, IBM features, and IBM fixes, including security fixes.
• Interim releases: can contain IBM features and fixes, including security fixes, that are additional to the previous quarterly release.

The following table shows the latest available release:

Note:

• Service refresh 8 fix pack 32 (8.0.8.32) interim update is specifically for Java 8 z/OS 31-bit and 64-bit platforms only. There are no plans to deliver version 8.0.8.32 on any other platform. This interim update revises a stability fix specific to the z/OS platform.
• Version 7 Release 1 and version 7 reached end of service in September 2022 (see Java SDK lifecycle dates). Fixes, downloadable user documentation, and supplementary documentation are currently still available; see the Oracle Comparative versions section for links.

• IBM SDK,  Java Technology Edition, version 8.0 will be discontinued on the Linux on IBM Z 32-bit starting May 2025. Linux on IBM Z 32-bit is currently supported by SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 and Ubuntu 20, which are reaching end of support by the following dates:
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 - Oct 2024
  • Ubuntu 20 - April 2025
