The paper describes how to install and configure IBM Storage Protect for Space Management on an IBM Storage Scale cluster. Instructions are provided for running and monitoring space-management operations. In addition, guidance is provided for integrating extra IBM Storage Scale functions, such as backup operations, active file management, and the Scale Out Backup and Restore (SOBAR) mechanism. The paper concludes with a series of tips for monitoring the solution, gathering statistics, and troubleshooting.
