Abstract
A new version of the Netcool/OMNIbus Ping Probe (nco-p-ping-7_6) will be available to download from 27 September 2023.
Content
This version of the probe addresses the following APARs and RFEs:
- APAR IJ27697 - Fixed issue during probe startup where unsuccessful hosts lookups are ignored. Probe now performs new lookup by reloading PingFile according to PingFileCheck interval when any host had unsuccessful lookup during PingFile read.
- APAR IJ06848 - Fixed probe unable to recognize FQDN string as host address but instead falsely consider the string as IP address. Target host was also found unreachable to probe ping requests. These issues might cause probe to fail and dump core file in the 64-bit AIX platform.
- APAR IJ03219 / RFE 114760 - Added 64-bit probe binaries for Solaris, Linux, AIX, and Linux on IBM Z platforms.
- APAR IV87938 - Introduced SocketBufferSize property to allow users to increase maximum buffer size in socket and avoid ping replies from being dropped.
- APAR IV60967 - The ping response time on Windows was always set to 0 ms. This issue has been fixed.
- APAR IV59592 / RFE 50915 - Probe now generates new elements that are available in the rules file as:
- $poll_rate
- $trip_time
- $timeout_time
