Problem
Is it possible to configure Maximo to allow items to be statusable?
Resolving The Problem
Steps:
1. Create an ALN domain in the Domains application
2. Go to the Database Configuration application
Bring up the Item object
Add a new attribute called ITEMSTAT
Enter ITEMSTAT in the domain field
Save
Stop the Maximo Application Server
Run configdb.bat under \\maximo\tools\maximo
3. Start up the Maximo application server
Go to the Database Configuration application
Bring up MR object
Check that there is a relationship called ITEMSONLY
Where Clause is:
itemtype in (select value from synonymdomain where maxvalue ='ITEM' and domainid='ITEMTYPE') and itemsetid in (select itemsetid from organization where orgid=:orgid)
4. Go to the Security Groups application
Bring up the PURCHREQ security group
Click the Restriction tab
Click New Row
Entity = ITEM
Restriction = ITEMSTAT='ACTIVE'
Save the record
5. Log in as a user that belongs to the PURCHREQ group
Go to PR application
Go to PR line tab
Enter an item in 'INACTIVE' status
Tab out of the item field
A look-up dialog box comes up i.e. it is not possible to enter inactive items on the PR lines
