Abstract

WebSphere Application Server traditional, a component of the WebSphere Application Server family of products, implements the Enhanced IBM Software Support Lifecycle Policy with some modifications. WebSphere Application Server traditional  follows the Enhanced IBM Software Support Lifecycle Policy with the following additional characteristics:

  • To  get the most out of your support experience, we encourage you to prioritize upgrading to the most recently recommended fix pack. While IBM will make commercially reasonable efforts to support fix packs from any supported release, those older than five years present significant challenges for support.
  • An interim fix may be provided upon request and at IBM's discretion. This fix is applicable to one or more sequential Fix Pack levels that have been generally available for no more than two years. For further details, please refer to WebSphere Application Server Update Strategy.
  • The WebSphere Support Statement describes how operating systems, dependencies and co-requisites are treated as they exit their standard support lifecycles.
