Abstract
This document describes the operating system requirements for IBM® Informix® Client Software Development Kit (Client SDK) and Informix Connect.

Informix Client SDK and Informix Connect run on most systems that have a UNIX, Linux, or Windows operating system.
Starting with version 4.50.xC4, stand-alone installation of the Client SDK requires a minimum version of OpenSSL 1.0.x to be installed on the system. Refer to https://www.openssl.org for more information on OpenSSL.
Java JRE was removed from the IBM Informix distribution starting with 14.10.FC11 and in 15.0:
- Customers will need to pre-install the Java JRE v1.8 or greater for use with 14.10 Informix products
- Customers will need to pre-install the Java JRE v11 or v17 for use with 15.0 Informix products
- Java v11 - v21 is required for InformixHQ 2.4.1 and greater

System requirements are listed by operating system (OS). In this document:
- AIX
- HP-UX (Itanium) (Client SDK 15.0 is not supported on this Platform)
- Linux - Intel
- Linux - IBM POWER (Big Endian) (Client SDK 4.50 and 15.0 are not supported on this Platform)
- Linux - IBM POWER (Little Endian)
- Linux - IBM System z
- Solaris SPARC (Client SDK 15.0 is not supported on this Platform)
- Solaris x86/x64 (Client SDK 4.50 and 15.0 are not supported on this Platform)
- Windows
- HP-UX PA-RISC is no longer supported
- Mac OS is no longer supported

** Following system libraries are needed for IBM Informix version 14.10.FC9, 14.10.FC10, and 14.10.FC11 to run on Red Hat Linux 9. (This workaround is not needed in 14.10.FC11W1 and later). Higher versions of same libraries are installed on Red Hat Linux 9. As a workaround, symbolic links to those libraries need to be created.

Run following commands as root user from /usr/lib64 directory.
