Resource Unit and Measurements
Resource Units
IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration Subscription is priced by Resource Unit. Resource units are purchased upfront. Resource units can be 'used' or burnt down over 12 month periods. At the end of the 12 months any unused resource units expire.
Example
Purchase 100 Resource Units per month for a subscription of 24 months.
That gives you 100 RU * 12 months = 1200 Resource units to use in the first 12 months and 1200 Resource units to use in the second 12 months.
Usage
Resource units can be used against any product in the resource unit ratio table. Most products burn down resource units against transactions, but some capabilities burn down against VPC month. Customers are responsible for converting to resource units and can use the attached spreadsheet to help calculate.

Metered by IBM License Server:
  • IBM API Connect for GraphQL
  • IBM Event Automation
All metering tools will track number of APIs called. The number of APIs called needs to be translated into Resource Units in order to track entitlement usage.
At present, IBM API Connect for GraphQL does not report the license usage to IBM License Server and the user must track the number of APIs manually.


Tracking API Connect API volume for auditing and compliance
For client security reasons, IBM entrusts its clients with monitoring their own API volume and ensuring that it is within the limits of the contract.

If you purchased IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration Subscription and deploy IBM API Connect then the count of total API Calls must be collected and archived by the client for audit and compliance.

Usage tracking
You are required to regularly record the number of your API calls from the Analytics system to maintain a record of monthly usage. To ensure the most accurate results, capture the counts of API Calls on a daily basis.
