Enhancements to SPT 6

This list highlights the enhancements to the System Planning Tool version 6

  • Support for installing SPT into Windows 8/10 & MAC OS.
  • Only POWER5 and newer system are selectable and modifiable in SPT Version 6.
  • Pre-POWER5 systems moved to SPT Legacy.
  • The above two versions of SPT can be downloaded and installed independently and they can run simultaneously.

What's new in SPT 6.25.098.1

 

 The System Planning Tool, version 6.25.098.1, is now available for download at: https://www.ibm.com/systems/support/tools/systemplanningtool/

 

 This is a minor announce and maintenance release of SPT that contains the following:

 
  • Announced IBMi V7R6 for Power10 MTMs
  • Added write permissions to <SPT Install dir>\lwi\runtime\core\eclipse\links folder to prevent launch error on certain systems
  • Removed slots C3 and C4 as possible candidates for EJ2A supporting an ESR0 on a 9105-42A and clarified error message generally
  • Fixed error where toggling the text report threw an exception
  • Fixed error where 9105-41B with EPG0 was enforcing a maximum of 64 GB of system memory. Changed to only restrict if IBMi is primary OS.
