Test Results

Definitions

Regression: An error in the Maintenance Delivery Vehicle (MDV) that produces incorrect or unexpected behavior causing a supported feature to stop functioning as designed.
This includes:

  • Coding errors that cause a regression
  • Documentation or packaging problems that cause a regression
  • Errors reported in a new function delivered in a MDV that cause a regression

Incomplete: An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
This includes:

  • Fixed APARs which did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new
  • APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression

Notes:
  • Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error
  • Definitions above apply only to valid APARs that result in product fixes (APARs returned as working-as-designed are not assessed for being fix-in-error)
  • Issues in major releases due to new functionality do not apply in this definition

There are no known regressions to report.

  2. In a non-English environment, some of the error messages that contain non-ASCII characters will be displayed in UNICODE.

As a workaround for this issue you can copy the error message and then run it with the following command:
    echo -e "message text"

Product Overview:

SmartCloud Orchestrator is an open, flexible, and scalable cloud platform enabling end-to-end service deployment and management across heterogeneous clouds. SmartCloud Orchestrator provides complete capabilities to build out your infrastructure and platform services and provides rich process orchestration for integrating within your existing data center and out to public cloud services.

At the core, SmartCloud Orchestrator includes OpenStack for infrastructure-as-a-service capabilities across your compute, network, and storage resources. The release includes platform implementation support for VMware vCenter, KVM, and Amazon EC2. The platform capabilities also include SmartCloud Orchestrator image library, providing federated views of all your images, version management, and image analytics.

Platform capabilities, built on top of OpenStack APIs, include a drag-and-drop pattern editor to define repeatable, standardized deployments of your middleware and application workloads. The editor supports defining multi-VM patterns with dynamic construction using Chef recipes, script packages, and parameter passing. A TOSCA pattern is included to import, export, customize and deploy applications using the TOSCA standard from OASIS.

SmartCloud Orchestrator includes process orchestration for a consistent, flexible, and automated way of integrating the cloud with your data center policies, processes, and infrastructures across various IT domains, such as backup, monitoring, and security. You can use the intuitive, graphical tool in SmartCloud Orchestrator to define and implement business rules and IT policies and offer these services in the self-service catalog.

An online marketplace provides a rich set of content, including pre-built middleware and application patterns from IBM and other vendors. There are also many content building blocks for constructing your own patterns and orchestrations including data center integrations for network load balancers, firewalls, storage, and problem management services.
