Abstract
Image Services, ISTK, Remote Admin Console (RAC) for 4.1.2 and 4.2.0 releases with their latest Fix Packs (FP25 and FP13 respectively) have been qualified on Microsoft Windows Server 2016. This technote provides instructions to follow before installing or upgrading to Image Services 4.2.0 GA on Windows Server 2016.

The interim fix contains oscheck.vbs script. The oscheck.vbs script is a prerequisite for Image Services 4.2.0 GA installation or upgrade on Windows Server 2016. The oscheck.vbs must be placed at the location C:\fnsw\altsetup prior to launching the installer.
Perform the following steps to place the oscheck.vbs script.
Important: If the following procedure is not completed prior to install or upgrade to Windows Server 2016, the 4.2.0 GA Installer will terminate prematurely with an Operating System check failure message.
There are two types of installation modes for Image Services, as described below:
- For a successful install or upgrade to Image Services 4.2.0 GA on Windows Server 2016, the interim fix is_4.2.0-IF552392 must be applied.
- Interim fix is_4.2.0-IF552392 does not need to be applied for installing or upgrading to Image Services 4.1.2 GA on Windows Server 2016.

- Download the Image Services 4.2.0 GA Windows installer from the IBM Passport Advantage site.
- Click the following link to access the files for the is_4.2.0-IF552392 interim fix: Fix Central for Interim Fix is_4.2.0-IF552392
- Download and extract the is_4.2.0_windows-IF552392 interim fix for your operating system.
- On the 'C:' drive, create a folder named fnsw. Inside the fnsw folder, create a folder named altsetup.
- Copy the oscheck.vbs script to the C:\fnsw\altsetup location.
- Install or upgrade to Image Services 4.2.0 GA.
There are two types of installation modes for Image Services, as described below:
- Graphical mode: Locate and double-click the is_4.2.0_win.exe file to run the setup.
- Silent mode: Open command prompt and run a command similar to:
- is_4.2.0_win.exe -i silent C:\tmp\opt.txt
(where C:\tmp\opt.txt is the location and name of the response file).
