These recommendations are based upon your system already having installed the most current Cumulative PTF Package and HIPER PTF Group.

The IBM i Global Support Center recommends installing the PTF's listed below for corrective service and preventative maintenance. If a problem persists after the recommended fixes have been installed, the support engineers can more efficiently diagnose the issue.

You will not need to type the individual PTF numbers from the list. You will need to add the appropriate MRI PTF for your system to the list. Note: To determine which version of the Facsimile Support product is installed
The following PTFs are recommended for IBM Facsimile Support for i, product 5798FAX V5R8M0 (R580). This version of the product will run on IBM i 7.2 and higher.
**IMPORTANT: It is also recommended that the IBM i 7.2 Recommended Fixes - Print be installed too. All PTFs should be applied before configuring or reconfiguring the fax controller(s).
- GO LICPGM
- Select option 10. Display Installed Licensed Programs
- Page down until product 5798FAX IBM Facsimile Support for i is shown
- Press F11=Display release once to display the release field.
The following PTFs are recommended for IBM Facsimile Support for i, product 5798FAX V5R8M0 (R580). This version of the product will run on IBM i 7.2 and higher.
IBM recommends using Facsimile Support V5R8M0. Facsimile Support V5R7M0 will also run on IBM i 7.2 and higher releases, though future PTFs will only be provided for Facsimile Support V5R8M0.
**IMPORTANT: It is also recommended that the IBM i 7.2 Recommended Fixes - Print be installed too. All PTFs should be applied before configuring or reconfiguring the fax controller(s).
