IBM FileNet Content Consistency Checker Tool

Abstract

You can use the FileNet Content Consistency Checker tool to perform the following tasks on a storage area:
• Validate storage area metadata by detecting inconsistencies between the metadata in the object store database and files in associated storage areas. See Validate a storage area for more information. See Validation errors for information about the kinds of inconsistencies that are detected.
• Repair a replica in an advanced storage area. Replica repair runs as a background task on Content Platform Engine. For more information, see Advanced storage area: repairing a replica.
• Update the storage area statistics. See Update storage area statistics for more information.

Starting with 5.5.2.0-P8CPE, an alternative method for validating storage area looking for inconsistencies and repairing a replica in an advanced storage area was provided using the CPE sweep functionality.

This document provides guidance on when to install and use the Content Consistency Checker tool and when to use the sweep functionality.

The new Sweep Consistency Checker function is documented in Knowledge Center "Using the Consistency Check job sweep".

For 5.5.2.0-P8CPE through 5.5.4.x -P8CPE customers requiring the old stand-alone consistency checker tool, the test old tool is available as test fix 5.5.2.0-P8CPE-ALL-TF001 by request from IBM support.
