(V5.5.2 and later) Using the Consistency Check job sweep

Users of V5.5.2 and later use the Consistency Check job sweep capability to check and help maintain storage area integrity.

The Consistency Check sweep provides the following content checking capabilities:
Validating storage areas
Check the consistency between the metadata in the object store database and the files in the selected storage areas. Inconsistencies are listed in a validation report.
Displaying validation results
Review the inconsistencies that were reported when the selected storage areas were validated. You can view the results in the Sweep Results tab in the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine.
Repairing a replica in an advanced storage area
Replica repair runs as a background task on Content Platform Engine. Availability of this response depends on the settings that you configured on your storage area, specifically the AUTO_REPAIR_ON_RETRIEVAL option on the ContentIntegrityOption constant.

How to create a Consistency Check job sweep for your storage area

You can create a Consistency Check job sweep by using the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to define a new sweep job. For more details, see Checking content consistency.

Setting Consistency Check job sweep options

When you create a Consistency Check job sweep, you specify the target class to check. You can also choose to enable subclass checking and failure reporting and define an effective start and end date for the job.

Refining the scope of the sweep by using filter expressions

If you run a Consistency check sweep job without providing any filter expression, the job checks every object in your system. The filter expression option enables you to specify which storage areas to check. You can also use the filter expressions to narrow the check to documents that were created in a specific time or date range.
