Known problems
- In order to avoid having to create a separate Database type or provider name in Datacap Application Manager for each of the newer Microsoft SQL Server drivers (MSOLEDBSQL17, MSOLEDBSQL18, MSOLEDBSQL19) released by Microsoft, it is required to install the 32-bit version of the Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server on the Datacap system running the Datacap application.
- In order to prevent losing the previously configured settings in the authentication system, Batch naming template etc., in the Datacap tab under the Datacap Server Manager Advanced Setting section, it is recommended to back up any and all registry settings stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Datacap folder prior to installing any ifix on the Datacap system. After the installation of an ifix, check all tuning and configuration of items that may have been removed or reverted.
- Reconfigure the settings of executable Datacap applications such as Datacap AppDeploy Service, Datacap Health Monitoring Service, and Datacap Windows Service, under the Services window. For example, if configured as Automatic prior to installing an ifix then they are known to be switched from Automatic to Manual. Therefore, ensure to configure them back to Automatic after the ifix installation.
- Upgrading older Db2, Oracle, or SQL databases for Datacap applications in order to be compatible with new versions of Datacap is documented in this link.
- After applying Microsoft's security vulnerability CVE-2022-38023 patch released by Microsoft on June 11, 2023, application pool users are required to use a service principal name (SPN). For example, in the Set Credentials window, modify the application pool user to use a service principal name (SPN) instead of the Datacap Web Client domain/Windows account information.
- Dynamsoft DWT SDK version 18.3 addresses the security vulnerability reported in CVE-2023-30086 - Buffer Overflow vulnerability found in Libtiff V.4.0.7 allows a local attacker to cause a denial of service via the tiffcp function.
- IBM DB2 v.11.5.8 has multiple denial of service vulnerabilities with a specially crafted query. As documented in this link.
- Connecting and scanning with a multifunction printer or MFP scanner through the scan task in Datacap Navigator has certain limitations. As documented in this link.
- When using the transaction or executing endpoint of Datacap Web Services, for example, when using Navigator Scan or Verify, it is required to set a mandatory registry key to enable the eRRO. If the registry key is not set, the Datacap Webserivce can crash while transactions are made. As documented in this link.
- The CreateDocuments () cannot be run more than once on an existing document structure. If it has to be called more than once, then call RemoveDocumentStructure action prior to calling the CreateDocument ()

Restriction
- Enhanced the MVScan action library to allow ingestion of non-tiff file types when set_multipage_burst (True) is enabled. As documented in this link.
- Enhanced the IBMCM actions library and IBMCMExtended actions library to allow a user to specify the location of the jvm.dll by declaring a custom variable "CM8JVMPath" for an application in Datacap Application Manager. For more information, refer to the IBMCM actions library link here and IBMCMExtended actions library link here.
- Enhanced the Smart Parameter reference guide documented in this link in the RuleRunnerLogic action help library.
- Enhanced the FNP8_SearchAndDownload () to download the content of the document that contains illegal characters. As documented in this link.
- Enhanced the Web Services actions with new actions, WsUploadDataEx () and WsUploadFileEx () to provide the ability to add a new file to an existing batch. For more information, refer to the WsUploadDataEx () link here and WsUploadFileEx () link here.
- PatternMatch.MatchPattern action.
- DocumentAnalytics.ExtractText action.

Upgrade of DynamsoftService v.1.8.3.627 requirement
If you experience any of the following conditions when scanning documents with the Datacap Navigator plug-in:
1. A Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) error that is used to explicitly allow some cross-origin requests while rejecting others.
2. You are not prompted to download the DynamsoftServiceSetup when you launch the scan client with an insecure IBM Content Navigator (ICN) URL.
You must use the HTTPS URL of your ICN application to avoid the problem. If, after successfully installing the Dynamsoft Service, you are still prompted to download the DynamsoftServiceSetup, with the message, "Failure to connect due to a possible configuration issue either with the Content Security Policy file, Dynamsoft Service version installed, or CORS. If the problem is CORS, then you must use HTTPS to avoid the issue. If you need to install Dynamsoft service, download and run the DynamsoftServiceSetup.msi program."
You should then follow the steps listed in this link to configure the Content Security Policy. Additionally, if after upgrading your scan workstation to Dynamsoft Service Custom version 1.8.1627, you decide to use the same workstation against a Datacap Navigator URL of an older version, you will be prompted to download and install the older DynamsoftServiceSetup.

Installing IBM® Datacap 9.1.9, interim fix 004
Download the 919 iFix 004 package from Fix Central, extract it, and perform both of the following steps in this order.
- Run Update.exe to install iFix 004.
- Run UpdateOCR.exe to install the iFix 04 OCR Update.

Feature enhancements for IBM® Datacap 9.1.9, interim fix 003
- Enhanced SQL lookup option from the panel to support the use of multiple workflows.
In cases where an application has multiple workflows, in Verify task, the lookup button can be configured to return data for a specific workflow. The actual SQL implementation can be contained in the ruleset to be run when the lookup button is clicked.
- Enhanced IBM Content Manager versioning in action IBMCM_SetSearchAndDownloadCriteria based on ITEMID.
- Enhanced ex_SetProxy() API to work in combination with ex_login_O365_oAuth_Graph() when Proxy Settings are enabled in IE LAN settings.
