How to resolve MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR with ICC?

Sometimes ICC fails to connect to Microsoft Exchange server and reports MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR messages in ICC email connector logs. Among other reasons the underlying issue could be that it is unable to connect to the Exchange server using the ICC default profile.
To resolve this issue, follow a resolution that is outlined in a IBM Technote.
