Use these hints & tips for a smoother running WebSphere MQ Workflow system
Setting RTRecycleThreshold environment variable to avoid resource constraints
Long running WebSphere MQ Workflow systems that are not restarted on a daily basis may run into resource constraints that can cause the system to hang or behave unpredictably. Resources may include, but not be limited to, file handles and semaphores,
Shutting down the WebSphere MQ Workflow system improperly can cause errors and unpredictable states of Workflow objects
If the software comprising the WebSphere MQ Workflow system is shutdown improperly you will see errors in the MQ Workflow system log(fmcsys.log) such as: FMC31000E A database error occurred, SQL code: -2112
Many FMC22590W and FMC22595W warnings are seen in the MQ Workflow system log fmcsys.log
When running MQ Workflow V3.6 the warning messages FMC22590W and FMC22595W are some times found in great numbers in the Workflow system log - fmcsys.log. Is this a problem or can it be ignored?
Maintaining the MQ Workflow system and error logs at a manageable size
The MQ Workflow system and error logs should be managed to periodically reduce their size so they don't become too large.. The logs are found as system files and database tables.

Instructions for preparing and sending a core dump from Websphere MQ Workflow on AIX
- Server does not start because of FmcTransXException with ReturnCode=2122
When you try to start Websphere MQ Workflow, it terminates with fmcerr.log entries like the following: "Error location = File=e:\v360\src\fmcrrstx.cxx, Line=659, Function=FmcRRSTx::BeginGlobTx" Error data = FmcTransXException, ReturnCode=2122
- Using Java api to access workflow is failing with java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
You upgraded to WebSphere MQ Workflow 3.6 on same server as WebSphere Application Server, and included fmcjapi.jar and fmcrc file in WebSphere JVM classpath, while WebSphere MQ Series 6.0 version jars was configured with WebSphere Variable MQ_INSTALL_ROOT. But the below WebSphere MQ Jars were not explicitly set in Java™ Virtual Memory (JVM) Classpath. "com.ibm.mq.jar, com.ibm.mqjms.jar, jms.jar, connector.jar". When these Jars are included in the JVM classpath, MDB listener failed start. WebSphere Application Server support suggests you remove above jars and use WebSphere variable MQ_INSTALL_ROOT in order to resolved MDB listener issue. But now when using Java api to connect to WebSphere MQ Workflow you are getting the below error exceptions: com.ibm.workflow.api.Agent.locate("","")) is called. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/ibm/mq/jms/MQDestination at com.ibm.workflow.client.api.FmcSession.<init>(FmcSession.java:68) at com.ibm.workflow.client.api.FmcService.<init>(FmcService.java:54) at com.ibm.workflow.client.api.FmcExecutionService.<init>(FmcExecutionService.java:97) at com.ibm.workflow.client.api.FmcDomainControllerImpl.locate(FmcDomainControllerImpl.java:97) at com.ibm.workflow.api.MQWFAgent$LocLocator.locate(MQWFAgent.java:69) at com.ibm.workflow.api.MQWFAgent.locate(MQWFAgent.java:197) at com.ibm.workflow.api.Agent.locate(Agent.java:117) atcom.companyxyz.cc.server.workflowmanager.WorkflowAdapter.logonWorkflowRuntime(Unknown Source)
