Question & Answer
Question
Which JDBC driver (JCC) version corresponds with each DB2 for z/OS release?
Answer
The IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ package includes two JDBC drivers:
- db2jcc.jar - This driver is based on the JDBC 3 specification
- db2jcc4.jar - This driver is based on the JDBC 4 or later specifications
1) The db2jcc.jar(JCC3) driver is now deprecated. After version 3.72, which is delivered with Db2 Version 11.1 M1 FP1, db2jcc.jar will include no new features. However, fixes will continue to be delivered.
The latest JCC3 version used to connect Db2 v12 and older is 3.72.54.
2) Starting with Db2 Version 11.5 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, the db2jcc.jar(JCC3) driver will not be a part of Db2 release cycles. No fix or enhancement will be delivered for db2jcc.jar (JCC3).
