Question

How do you determine which Db2 for z/OS APARs deliver a certain IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ version?

Cause

IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ versions are delivered through Db2 for z/OS APARs. You need to know the APAR numbers to determine which functions are provided in each version of the driver.

Answer

The following tables list the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ versions, and the Db2 for z/OS Version APARs and PTFs that deliver those versions.

You can use the DB2Jcc utility with the -version or -configuration parameter to determine version and environment information for the driver that you are using. When you specify the -version parameter, the DB2Jcc utility returns the driver name and version. When you specify the -configuration parameter, the DB2Jcc utility returns the driver name, Java runtime environment, operating system, path information, and license restrictions.

The syntax is:

Important: Starting with APAR PH17211, the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ that is based on the JDBC 3 specification is no longer supported. You need to upgrade to the driver that is based on the JDBC 4 specification.
