Abstract
The CustomPac Dialog installation method option for ServerPac is planned to be removed on 10 July 2022. After 10 July 2022, IBM intends all ServerPacs ordered in Shopz for z/OS, CICS, Db2, IMS, or other program products, can be installed with z/OSMF only.

In the z/OS V2.5 Software Announcement dated 15 March 2022, IBM announced the intention to keep the CustomPac Dialog installation method option for ServerPac until the z/OSMF Software Management data set merge function is available and is enabled in the z/OS V2.5 ServerPac.
The z/OSMF Software Management data set merge function is now available with the PTFs for APAR PH42028 on 23 March 2022 for z/OS V2.3, V.24, and V2.5. In addition, the function is enabled in ServerPac z/OSMF Portable Software Instance orders on or after 6 May 2022.
Therefore, the CustomPac Dialog installation method option for ServerPac is planned to be removed on 10 July 2022. After 10 July 2022, IBM intends all ServerPacs ordered in Shopz for z/OS, CICS, Db2, IMS, or other program products, can be installed with z/OSMF only.
