Abstract

OSP-CERT-MSGMCH6903 HTTP SERVER JOB WHEN VALIDATING
CLIENT CERTIFICATES

Error Description

IBM HTTP Server job will eventually fail with MSGMCH6903 "The
heap space has reach its maximum allowable size" due to heap
growth in the job caused by the QsyParseCertificate API stemming
from use of the HTTP directive "SSLClientAuth Required". The
HTTP directive "SSLClientAuthRequire" might also be used in
conjunction with "SSLClientAuth Required".

Problem Summary

Please see the Error Description section.

Problem Conclusion

The cleanup object that tracks resources to be released when
done is inadvertently being called again which causes the first
set of resource pointers to be lost in heap. The modification
will ensure only one set of cleanup resource pointers are
allocated.
