Abstract
OSP-QSHINT-UNPRED INTERMITTENT MISLEADING ERROR MESSAGE WHEN
QSH FAILS TO COPY A FILE.
Error Description
An SFTP script running in the Qshell environment intermittently
fails to copy a file. The failure generates misleading error
messages:
/userScript.sh: 001-0055 Error found creating file
/userLogfile.log
/userScript.sh: 001-0088 Error found duplicating descriptor 1
to descriptor 13. Descriptor not valid.
/userScript.sh: 001-0024 All available file descriptors are in
use.
QSH trace may contain:
304870) error(): errno=3450, msg=All available file descriptors
are in use.
All available file descriptors are not in use.
Problem Summary
When copying a file in Qshell, failures might produce a
misleading error message: 001-0024 All available file
descriptors are in use.
Problem Conclusion
Qshell does not properly manage internal information associated
with the operation of copy. This causes intermittent misleading
error messages when trying to copy objects. The PTF corrects the
problem so that the following message is generated: File
descriptor number XX is not valid.
