Abstract
RDARS-ONDCSRV-INCORROUT Single quotes in description fields not
handled
Error Description
When creating or changing an output queue or directory monitor
definition, single quotes in the description result in an error
stating that the add, change, or delete of the monitor failed.
This problem also exists for disk pools, NFS disk pools, optical
storage groups, TSM storage nodes, and tape devices.
Problem Summary
When creating or changing a migration policy, accented
characters in the description field may expand to multiple
incorrect characters. This problem also applies to the
description field for levels within the migration policy.
When creating or changing a directory monitor, single quotes in
the description result in an error stating Add, change, or
delete directory monitor failed. This problem als applies to
outq monitors.
Problem Conclusion
A request to create or change a migration policy using the
Navigator for i interface is handled internally by running the
ARSXML command. The XML file that is passed to ARSXML contains
the description for the policy and its levels. The code that
builds the XML file is performing incorrect CCSID translation
for the description text. This has been corrected.
A request to create or change a monitor using the Navigator for
i interface is handled internally by issuing an SQL INSERT or
UPDATE statement to add or change a row in the QARLCMON table in
the instance library. The code that builds the description
field does not handle single quotes correctly. This has been
corrected.
