Abstract
OSP-INCORROUT QAPMLPARH ONLY CONTAINS DATA FOR 4 LPARS
Error Description
A 9119-FHA system that is currently hosting 17 LPARs, those
being a mix of IBM i 6.1, AIX 5.3, AIX 6.1 and VIOS 2.1. An
LPARs, running at R610, is set up to collect the performance
data from all 17 LPARs. However, when the client runa the new
enhancements for Systems Director Navigator-Performance Data
Investigator that can display performance data charts for a
physical system, it only shows data for LPAR ids 1 to 4. The
client double checks by running an SQL query over the QAPMLPARH
file, sure enough it only has data for LPAR 1 to 4 . The PTFs
for the Performance Data Investigator are already applied and
they are: SI35659, SI35663 and SI36093, plus any required co-
and pre-reqs.
Problem Summary
The QAPMLPARH file only contains data for 4 partitions
regardless of the number that actually exist.
Problem Conclusion
This is a data collection problem. Data is stored in the
management collection object for a maximum of 4 partitions due
to an error in determining the partition count. The QAPMLPARH
file is reporting what the management collection object
contains.
The collection code was fixed. Management collection objects
created after applying this PTF will contain data for all
partitions.
Temporary Fix
