Abstract

WMQ V6 STRMQM FAILS TO START QUEUE MANAGER AMQ5011 RC 545284153

Error Description

Attempts to start a Queue Manager at V6 may fail with AMQ5011
The Queue Manager ended for reason 545284153 if the Queue
Manager's Cluster Workload exit length ( CLWLLEN ) parameter is
set to 999999999.

Problem Summary

STRMQM at V6 fails with AMQ5011 if the Queue Manager's Cluster
Workload exit length ( CLWLLEN ) parameter is set to 999999999.

Users Affected: Users with Queue manager having CLWLLEN set to
a high value.

Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and
Windows)

During queue manager startup, the value specified on the
CLWLLENis used to allocate an internal buffer. If the CLWLLEN
value ishigh, the required memory allocation is large which WMQ
fails to allocate and this leads to STRMQM failure.

Problem Conclusion

2437980 was found to be the allowable maximum value of CLWLLEN.
Code changes were carried out to introduce a check at the time
of queue manager startup to ensure CLWLLEN value if supplied
more than 2437980; it gets set to 2437980. The following
informational FDC is thrown mentioning the change in value done
internally at the time of startup

Internal testing revealed that STRMQM was found to fail with a
CLWLLEN value above 2437980 and this value may vary slightly on
some systems depending on the memory allocation carried out at
that time.
