Abstract

MQM400-ENDMQM MQMNAME(*ALL) FAILS WITH ERROR NUNBER 3027
(OPERATION NOT PERMITTED) AFTER WMQ V6 INSTALLATION/MIGRATION

Error Description

After migrating to WebSphere MQ v6, at the time of ending the
queue managers using "ENDMQM MQMNAME(*ALL) OPTION(*IMMED)
ENDCCTJOB(*YES)" command, some customers got the following
error.
.
Id(436) Name(/qibm/userdata/mqm/errors) errno(3027) strerror
(Operation not permitted.)
.
This problem was seen to happen after customers moved to
v6.0.2.0 level.

Problem Summary

****************************************************************
USERS AFFECTED:
All iSeries customers who migrated from MQ v5.2 -> v5.3 -> v6.0
and v5.2 -> v6.0 following standard migration procedure.

Platforms affected:

****************************************************************
PROBLEM SUMMARY:
At MQ v5.2 QMQM library objects AMQOQQMX, AMQSTOP4 and AMQZUTCX
were all owned by QMQM. When  migrated to WMQ v5.3 and
subsequently to WMQ v6 it was found that these objects were
still owned by QMQM at WMQ v6 while as per requirement these
objects should have been owned by QSYS at v6.
This behaviour is also true when migrated directly from v5.2 to
v6.
During the time of migration the ownerships of these objects
were not altered accordingly.

Problem Conclusion

Incorporated code changes to ensure that the ownerships are
correctly restored back for all the object which should be
owned by QSYS at WMQ v6, the correction will take place at the
time of applying the fix pack.
