Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server version * * 7.0 users of the Expression Language. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Repeatedly starting and stopping a * * specific application can deplete a * * system's memory. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When an application, which contains a method expression, is started, the expression resolver utilizes the class loader to load the handler class for the expression. However, when the application is stopped, the resolver does not release the class loader thus preventing the loaded resources from being garbage collected. Repeatedly starting and stopping the application can eventually deplete the available memory.
Problem conclusion
The Expression Language code was modified to correct the problem. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.19. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
