PM38747 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:

If an application using Java ServerPages (JSP) Expression language is restarted repeatedly, there is a chance that memory leak may happen because of references to the classes loaded by a disposed ClassLoader.



This is a packaging issue since PM21638 already fixed the problem, there was simply a packaging issue which prevented it from being pulled in to fix pack 7.0.0.15.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:

USERS AFFECTED:
IBM WebSphere Application Server version 7.0 users of the Expression Language.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Repeatedly starting and stopping a specific application can deplete a system's memory.

RECOMMENDATION:
None

When an application, which contains a method expression, is started, the expression resolver utilizes the class loader to load the handler class for the expression. However, when the application is stopped, the resolver does not release the class loader thus preventing the loaded resources from being garbage collected. Repeatedly starting and stopping the application can eventually deplete the available memory.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The Expression Language code was modified to correct the problem.
