PI85286: RHAPSODYCL.EXE DOES NOT REPORT ANY ERROR CODE IF MAX NO OF LICENSE IS REACHED.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• RhapsodyCL.exe fails if max number of license is reached. It
  does not report any error hence at time fails to generate code
  which may be further required for build.
  
  Steps to Reproduce:
  
  Occupy all licenses on the license server.
  Try to run RhapsodyCL.exe command.
  If max no of user has reached on license server As per this
  Rhapsody knowledge center document (link below)  a return code
  should be displayed but RhapsodyCL.exe does not shows any error
  on console.
  
  Note: In similar situation Rhapsody GUI reports a license error.

Problem conclusion

• 1. RhapsodyCL returns -1 value, if it fails to run for some
  reason. This value can be analyzed in %errorlevel% global
  variable on Windows or using the following commands on Linux:
  >.\RhapsodyCL.exe
  >echo $?
  
  Moreover, in Rhapsody 8.3 there is a possibility to define
  RY_LICENSE_ERROR_FILE=< error log file> option
  in [General] section of rhapsody.ini file.
