PI38231: CHANGING TEMPLATE PROPERTIES FROM SELECT TO TEXT MAY CAUSE ERRORS WHEN SETTING VALUES ON OBJECTS USING THOSE TEMPLATES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you have a process template property set as a select property
  change it to a text property, you may run into an issue when
  creating a process that uses the property and does not use the
  default value. A TemplateWorkflowCreationException is thrown
  saying that property x is not an allowed value for <property>
  
  This also applies to project template properties and source
  config template properties.
  

Local fix

• 1 - Set the property type to Select and clear the Allowed Values
  field
  2 - Alternatively you can delete and re-add the property as a
  text property

Problem conclusion

• Fix is in the latest cumulative patch. Changing a select
  property to a text property should no longer cause the UI to try
  selecting any entered values from an allowed values list
