APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An EPI client application stopped responding after issuing an
  EPI getEvent when a read timeout value was specified on the EPI
  terminal install request.

Problem summary

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  When an EPI application attempted to retrieve a response to a
  transaction request from CICS, CICS TG attempted to use the
  specified read timeout value. This caused a deadlock to occur
  which prevented CICS TG responding to the application.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS TG has been corrected. Specifying an EPI terminal with a
  read timeout does not cause the reported deadlock.
