Error description

  • This issue can be seen using IBM Sterling Transformation
Extender 11 on a system where the system locale is set to a
    non-English value (i.e. French).

The Design Studio can be forced into English using a small edit
to the DTXCommon.bat (uncomment the 'SET NLLOCALE=' line in the
'Locale for Eclipse Applications' section) however this does not

update the runtime effectively. An entry in the config.yaml in
the 'runtime' section, 'locale: en' is ignored.

The symptoms of the issue include (but are not limited to):
    - Design Studio crash with logged message - Required filter
    org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resources.filters.workingSet is not
present. Working set support will not function correctly.
    - Audit log files will contain localised error messages,
instead of English, as per expectations with the 'locale: en'
setting. - Other random behaviour and crashes, not replicable,
    if the
    system locale is English.

    Circumvention: None

Problem summary

  • IBM Transformation Extender users who using English language in
    non English locale

    Problem Description:
Unable to switch runtime to the English language, instead it
    defaults to system locale.

    Platforms Affected:
    Windows

Problem conclusion

  • This issue has now been resolved. The system now correctly
handles `Config.yml` settings, and if a `dtx.ini` file is
present, it will prioritize the settings from the `ini` file.
Previously, when the runtime was switched to the English
language, the system locale would override the settings in
`config.yaml`, leading to an incorrect locale.

    Applies to:
    11.0.0.0, 11.0.1.1, 11.0.2.0

Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
