PH67443: PARSE FUNCTION FAILED RESTRICTION CHECK FOR CHARACTER DEFINED AS SYNTAX IN A PREVIOUS OUTPUT CARD DEFINED AS A SYNTAX CARD

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The PARSE() function trace reports "failed RESTRICTION check for
  Type" due to a character defined as syntax in a previous output
  card defined as a Syntax Card, but the character is not a syntax
  character for the type tree used by the PARSE() function for
  validation.

Problem summary

• Users Affected:
  IBM Transformation Extender users using group excludes
  characters in groups which come before a call to PARSE.
  
  Problem Description:
  The PARSE function could spuriously reject an input due to a
  character restriction error.
  
  Platforms Affected:
  All
  

Problem conclusion

• Logic which kept track of group exclude characters was corrected
  
  to ensure that all group exclude characters which were put into
  effect when output building for a group started were no longer
  in effect when output building for the group ended.
  
  Applies to:
  10.1.0.2, 10.1.1.1, 10.1.2.1, 11.0.0.0, 11.0.1.1, 11.0.2.0
  
  Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
