Abstract
LIC-DISK-OTHER-INCORROUT-DISK D/T2145 SOME DISKS SHOW UP AS DPH
VS DMP AFTER FLASHCOPY.
Error Description
Following an IASP flashcopy, the target disks resulted in some
showing DMP* rersources and others with DPH*. The IASP vary
ran DASD Checker for about six minutes before moving on. The
vary on did complete and the IASP did become available.
However when looking at the disk units, still
some were showing DPH*.
There is a very small timing window when the DPH being
altered to DMP resources code is called, some resources may get
skipped.
Circumvention: Prior to IASP vary on a user can check the disk
resources to see if they are all showing DMP* accordingly. If
any are still showing as DPH* they can perform an IO Adapter
Reset or simply IPL the flashcopy target node and that should
allow the remaining DPH* to be converted to DMP* appropriately.
Problem Summary
Please see the ERROR DESCRIPTION section.
Problem Conclusion
A race condition in the code was fixed that previously prevented
some drivers from updating from DPH to DMP.
