Abstract

LIC-MEDIA-TAPE EXCEPTION DURING DEVICE IDENTIFICATION

Error Description

If a critical error occurs during the creation of the IOPless  
tape device driver, a looping condition may occur that logs many
2E00 8101 LIC logs, and in some cases a system IPL may be      
required before the tape device can be used.

Problem Conclusion

Apply this fix to improve the detection of the critical error,  
and log a single 2E00 8105 LIC Log.  An IPL of the adapter      
should recover the device.
