APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Hankaku-KANA in EBCDIC data is 1 byte but UTF-8 needs 3 bytes.
If data is stored as "AIUEO" (EBCDIC data ), UTF-8 needs 15
bytes.
CLP alloced 5 bytes for output buffer, truncated EBCDIC data.
Finally select "AIUEO" from EBCDIC return "A".

Local fix

  • If possible, exceed column size x 3 in z/OS side.
