Error description
If issuing the "db2licm -a" operation using a root-id on a Linux IA64 platform, the operation might trap and produce a coredump file. . The stack trace from the coredump file will show a problem in the libdb2licm.so.1 library with the following call stack: . get_linux_node_id () . ... or the call stack will show the following stack trace: . canon_str () get_disk_serial_number () get_linux_node_id () gen_target_from_rom () ifor_create_target_vector () ifor_uuid_gen () netls_create_job_id () LicInitializeNetls () NetlsRequestLicense () LicGetAccessKey ()
Local fix
Create a blank nodelock file in the /opt/ibm/db2/V9.1/license directory, and then append the last 4 lines from the license file (example db2ese.lic) into the nodelock file. Then restart DB2.
Problem summary
Users Affected: DB2 administrators Problem Description: db2licm -a might trap on a Linux IA64 platform.
Problem conclusion
First fixed in DB2 UDB Version 9, Fixpak 5
Temporary fix
Manually modify the nodelock file by adding the last 4 lines from the license file, and then restart the database instance.
