Error description
When using the Tivoli Software Automation (TSA) product to automate DB2 HADR failovers, and there is exactly 1 network interface card (NIC) in use per machine, and the NIC is marked inactive (down), then transaction processing might not be stopped completely prior to promoting the former HADR standby as the new HADR primary.
Local fix
For existing customers running TSA automation with HADR, they can execute the following TSA command to ensure transaction processing is stopped completely prior to an attempted failover. (This command must be run as root at any node in the cluster domain): # chrsrc -s 'Name like "db2_%" ' IBM.Application ProtectionMode=1 For customers who will setup the TSA HADR cluster domain with the fix included in this APAR, it is not necessary to run this command. The DB2 resources will be created with the ProtectionMode=1 attribute set.
Problem summary
USING TSA WITH 1 NIC IN USE PER MACHINES,TRANSACTION PROCESSING MAY NOT BE STOPPED COMPLETELY WHEN THE NIC IS MARKED DOWN
Problem conclusion
